BBC Perverting Reality Again

Mr Underhill | 19.12.2005 23:23 | Social Struggles | London

The BBC, reporting the victory of Evo Morales -South America's first indigenous Aztec president- couldn't resist a nasty side-swipe regarding his intention to legalize the traditional growing of coca.

If this wasn't a perversion of reality what is? Amerindians have been growing and chewing coca since time immemorial. It's the artificial demand that rich corporate, coke-sniffing (BBC?) executives have given it that perpetuates the huge Mafia/CIA trafficking industry for cocaine.

If the BBC were even slightly serious it would spend some time to find out who really is behind the hard drugs trafficking. Fat chance of that happening!

Coca

The difference between coca leaf and cocaine is like the difference between rye bread and rye whiskey.

But it will be difficult to explain that to Daily Mail readers in a northern country, where coca leaf doesn't grow.

Just say no to tobacco

BBC in today's jargon can only stand for Bush and Blair Con!

that's not news, it's a comment

This isn't a news story, it's a grumble about BBC news coverage that is more suited to your own personal weblog than a site that's (supposed to be) about reporting news.

If you've took the time to post it here, I hope you also took the time to send a complaint to the BBC directly. You could mention the slanted language used by the reporter, for example calling Morales's words "shrill". Otherwise you may as well just be wanking, what can anyone here do about the BBC's policies? Put pressure on them and help make Indymedia a credible alternative to them. Posts like yours don't help that.
