Amnesty International Seeks Local Poets

West Midlands Amnesty International is seeking local poets to submit entries to a competition on the theme of what a world without violence against women would look like. The competition has a first prize of £50. The poems will then be displayed at St Martin’s Church, Birmingham.

West Midlands Amnesty International is seeking local poets to submit entries to a local poetry competition. Entries are requested on the theme of what a world without violence against women would look like. The competition has a prize of £50 which will go to the best entry. The best poems will then be displayed at St Martin’s Church, Birmingham on Human Rights Day which is Saturday 10th December.

All submissions to the competition should begin ‘When violence against women and girls ends…’ and require entrants to imagine what a world without violence against women would look like. Entry is free and the competition closing date is Monday 21st November. Entries should be sent by post to West Midlands Amnesty International, c/o 23 Quigley Avenue, Bordesley Village, Birmingham B9 4HB or emailed to  media@wmai.org.uk . The prize of £50 will be awarded to best piece of poetry as decided by a panel of judges comprising of human rights activists and professional writers.
