NO VIGILS! TROOPS OUT NOW - BLAIR NO CONFIDENCE - OUT NOW

pissed off | 09.07.2005 16:17 | Anti-militarism | Globalisation | London | World

What's with the peace vigils? 50 dead in london - that's the price for 50 dead every day in Iraq! Come on, lets turn this around.

Blair must go!

Troops out now!

Justice for Palestine!

The attack on London, from whatever source, is a direct result of the British interference overseas..

Demand regime change at home - Tony Blair must go!

From the British carve up of the middle east to it's backing of the illegal invasion of Iraq by the USA, the UK has allowed itself to be placed in the firing line.

While the bombs were directed at working people and not miltary/political or even economic targets, it is not realist to call the victims or indeed ANY of us 'innocent'

The government is (apparently) democratically elected by us and enacting the policy on the basis of representing OUR views. Now many of us might not believe that in practise this 'democracy' is actually functioning.

HOWEVER, many people do apparently believe we live in a democracy and must share responsibilty for the actions of the governement.

We all benefit from the war mongering acts of our government, both outright war and economic policies that result in the theft of resources from other countries. We are now paying the price.

We can either stand united with Tony Bliar and both our own culpability with his actions OR we can kick the bastard out, recall our troops from Iraq and do whatever we can to solve the mess we have left in the middle east.

General strike anyone?

Seems to me the only way to get Blair out, and so have a chance to get the troops out of Iraq, and thus make Britain safer, is to force him out.

The only way I can see that happening is if the economy is hit. The powers that be care nothing for demonstrations or demonstators, recalll the two million who protessted against the war before it began.

Ther only way to hit the economy is to carry out general strikes. I don't know where to begion. Anyone got any ideas?

Yes! Take the initiative and set the tone before Blair does!

That's a good point about the pre-invasion protests being ignored. The whole world was coordinated and failed to deter the invasion. However, the grim reality of future life in London, and the spreading canker of the war itself demand action be taken. I'm an American, and my people aren't going to do it. The citizens of the United Kingdom could make a concerted sustained effort to force Blair to remove his troops, and maybe himself while at it. I sure hope you men and women try. If the population of the UK could suceed in pressing this issue, by weekly large demonstrations, letters to editors, boycotts, etc. it could start a tidal wave of free-thinking that might sweep over here to the US and knock some sense into the banal majority. The polls here show about a 50/50 split on the Iraq issue. Surely UK citizens agaisnt the war must number even greater I would think.
