Local Transport Plans : You Can Change Them

Keith Farnish | 08.06.2005 11:55 | Ecology

County Councils and Unitary Authorities are publishing the first drafts of their Local Transport Plans covering the period 2006-2011. Now is the time to object to developments that could damage the environment.

Initial responses to these plans at this early stage can make a big impression, and they are needed considering some of the plans include (in Essex alone):

- Maldon to Witham Bypass
- North East Chelmsford Bypass (to enable more housing development)
- A120 Braintree-Marks Tey dualling
- A131 dualling
- A12 widening to 6 lanes between M25 and Colchester
- New or widened access roads to Southend Airport

(for details see:  http://www.essexcc.gov.uk/vip8/ecc/ECCWebsite/dis/guc.jsp?channelOid=16819&guideOid=39939&guideContentOid=41006 )

Southend and Thurrock have NOT published their drafts, so contact them asking for copies on:
