Colombia and Human Rights Defenders
Colombia's conflict is Latin America's longest, and
civilians find themselves increasingly in the firing
line. Peace Brigades International (PBI) accompanies
human rights defenders and rural "peace communities"
in Colombia, where many face death threats or attacks
for their work. Come and hear how PBI works, and find
out about the rural communities who are trying to opt
out of the cycle of violence, and risk paying with
their lives. Returned PBI volunteer June Holmes will
be talking about her experiences and taking questions.
In memory of Luis Eduardo Guerra, leader of the San
Jose Peace Community, murdered with his family on 21st
February 2005 - come and find out what you can do...
The commonplace is in central leeds close to both the
bus and train station see our website for a map

it may be down for the next day due to reconstruction
