Is Syria Next?

un | 18.01.2005 15:12 | Anti-militarism | Repression

Once again the disinformation is being spread, that Syria is where the terrorists are coming from, that Syria is harbouring terrorist training camps, that Syria is supporting insurgents in Iraq.

Is Sryia Next?

According to the Washington Times ( http://www.washtimes.com/upi-breaking/20050111-105709-6329r.htm) the Bush Nazi Family ( http://www.takebackthemedia.com/bushnonazi.html) are considering strikes into Syria 'to bolster security for the upcoming elections'.

A more likely explanation however, is that it will divert attention from a rigged election ( http://www.voices.netuxo.co.uk/library/briefing_020804.html), and from its failure in Fallujah ( http://www.atimes.com/atimes/Middle_East/FL18Ak04.html), and its mounting record of War Crimes, and Crimes Against Humanity, and Acts Of Genocide, as defined by articles 5-8 of The ICC ( http://www.un.org/law/icc/statute/romefra.htm)

Syria tried so hard as well, to help america by providing american intelligence with 'hundreds of files on Al Qaeda, crucial data on the activities of radical Islamist cells throughout the Middle East and Europe and intelligence about future terrorist plans.' ( http://www.thenation.com/doc.mhtml?i=20031103&s=editors), and offered to let american troops stay on Syrian soil, and they have been repaid by almost continuose threats of violence.

Yes, but if ?

Your post assumes that reports of terrorist training camps in Syria are false. What if they are true, what if the Syrian regime (also a B'athist Party) is supporting the remnants of the Saddam regime in Iraq ?

What should the world community do -

Impose sanctions on Syria ?
Organise a UN led invasion ?
Apply 'Diplomatic Pressure' ?
Nothing ?

Assad

IF

18.01.2005 21:26

If, in reality, which is very unlikely, Syria is harboring resistance training camps...well, I think we should send it money, weapons and encouragement, promise to protect it if it comes under attack by imperialist US forces, and work towards the defeat of the US empire in Iraq.

Just a thought...maybe you think I'm extreme ;)

Not Extreme

No Djin, we don't think you're extreme. We think you just rather imature and you are posting like this to try and pretend you are a grown up.

No Lisa - you are the child

I disagree – Djinn is not being childish – Is it childish to suggest that we should not support people’s right to defend themselves or is it only White Europeans that are allowed to do that. The US government has twice invited the whole world to bomb and kill Iraqi people and the Syrian Government (how ever horrible they are) have an obligation to protect there population from US/UK bombs. The invasion of Iraq was illegal so on the unlikely situation that Syria is aiding resistance to the US in Iraq – them good for them

We can see where you stand. The Facist B'ath party of Syria has the right to continue to oppress its people, the right to deny them a democratic voice and the right to contnie to support the miserbale remainders of Saddams thugs who are attacking the Iraqi people.

Thanks for clearing that up - what will be your rallying cry -

"Power to the People - as long as they're not Syrian"

Lisa

"Lisa" & "Assad" are the same zionist spook

19.01.2005 22:27

As usual it is the zionist nazis occupying Palestine that the shit-stirring the USA to attack the innocent Syrian people. Just like they did in Iraq (that's what happens when a bunch of zionist neo-cons take control through fraudulent "elections").

"the Syrian regime (also a B'athist Party)" - COMPLETLY DIFFERENT FROM THE "BATHIST" PARTY THAT RULED IRAQ (WITH THE SUPPORT OF THE USA). They acutally hated each other you moron. But you just play with words to confuse the Sun reading moron who take your zionist lies seriously, don't you?

"is supporting the remnants of the Saddam regime in Iraq" - say a bunch of Mossad agents and no one else ... got any proof? Is it like the WMD "proof"?

"Impose sanctions on Syria ?" - NO! Impose them on the only "state" in the Middle East with PROVEN WMDs and PROVEN nukes - the zionist entity knows as "israel".

"Organise a UN led invasion ?" - NO! We must invade Occupied Palestine to take it back from the ILLEGAL OCCUPIERS (the zionists). They are the ones in breach of MORE UN RESOLUTIONS THAN ANY OTHER NATION ON EARTH.

The "chatter" about an attack on Syria is zionist neocon propaganda - WE WILL DESTROY ALL AMERICANAZIS AND ZIONISTS IF THESE ILLEGAL ATTACKS ON NATIONS CONTINUE.

AND WE SHOULD ENCOURAGE SYRIA TO GET NUKES AS SOON AS POSSIBLE TO DEFEND THEM FROM AN ILLEGAL ATTACK BY THE IMPERIALIST CRUSADERS. GOOD LUCK SYRIA - SLAUGHTER THE INVADER SCUM WHEN THE ATTACK YOUR INNOCENT PEOPLE.

My view is clear – but obviously not to Lisa

No I don’t support the Syrian government – They are scum just like Sadam’s lot and like the American government. Please proof that the resistance is made up of ‘remainders of Sadam’s thugs’
Do you think it is possible that the relatives of the 10,000’s of Iraqi people that have been killed by US forces may have an axe to grind about the occupation?

Please look at this photo of a little girl pulled out of a car that has been shot up by US forces in Iraq. Her parent’s crime – driving in their only country. When I looked at this picture my blood boils. When many people see this in Iraq – they reach for a gun – to protect themselves from the US and their cheerleaders – like you.

My view is clear

And don't you find it odd that so many Al-Qaeda members and resistance fighters are Saudi, and Saudi is a far more oppressive, despotic and corrupt regime than Syria, and yet there's not talk of bombing Syria.

Ah, but THOSE despots are our FRIENDS. Our despotic allies in the war against terror.

Syria may not have a perfect government. But when you compare it to some of our friends in the region...Israel, Saudi Arabia...well, I don't see much comparison. The biggest criticism of Syria is what they did to the town of Hama, in the previous presidents reign, when it destroyed the city centre to defeat an uprising of militant muslims. But I don't think the US can complain now, seeing as it has done EXACTLY THE SAME THING in Fallujah.
And Hama happened a long time ago, under a different regime, so if you don't bring up Hama, well, I won't bring up the even greater massacre the US committed in Vietnam.

I'd be interested to know, now, exactly who commits more torture. The US or Syria. Certainly, the US is commiting a much greater amount of murder and political repression at the moment.

I find the dialogue about Syria so hypocritical by the US. It does not support democracy. In fact, it overthrows democracries ( see Haiti...also see the attempt in Venezuela ), and it supports despots. It has been in far more wars than any other country, has killed many many more people.

Actually, the most hypocritical is the US dialogue on Cuba. 'oooo, Cuba is so bad because it imprisons dissidents'. The US is detaining hundreds of people, WITHOUT CHARGE OR TRIAL. And not only that, it is torturing many of them.

WHAT A HYPOCRITE YOU ARE TO SUPPORT UNITED STATES REPRESSION AND TORTURE IN THE NAME OF FIGHTING REPRESSION AND TORTURE.

Victory to the Resistance.

Djinn
