An adhoc demo (has been advertised for about a week) took place today in London, parliement square in protest at the attacks on Iraq cities.
Starting without any defined plan, the group of 50 to 100 people listened to various testimonies on an open mike session ; and it was then agreed to walk to the cenotaph and lay down flowers. As people crossed the road to lay down flowers, a group of 20 people sat down on the road, linking arms together, blocking whitehall for 10mn before the police removed the last of them. The group then moved on to opposite downing street, with some readings and 2 minute silence.
