"If future road protests follow these peoples lead then well be screwed in the future. theyve been here six weeks and have dug them selves in so strongly and wont leave, usually it takes them months... years. yeah, if they carry on like this, swooping in and doing the job straight away no questions asked were in trouble!"
A bailiff was overheard saying...

Yip yip!

You heard the man! Full respect and love to everyone involved. Heard that the lancaster posse were involved yesterday with lock-ons and arm-tubes, can't wait to see you to wet your heads. More lancaster people checking out Bargoed next, this one could run and run. Let's keep up the pressure whilst the force is strong. You may strike us down, but we will only become more possible than you can powerfully imagine!

Give them stick

If anybody has more photos of scab climbers faces from the blackwood eviction
please post them up here. We need to identify names and faces of these scum
and make sure they don't get away with what they're doing. Some of these climbers
have been doing this for years and we shouldn't let them sleep easily in their beds
- or at least ensure that they can't recruit more scum.
Our old friend Richard Turner was there being as smug as ever. He is calling his rope access firm along with the bailifs the 'national eviction squad'. He's making his career out of our protest. He shouldn't be let off lightly!

look under the 'scab climbers' link in the newswire for address details for Richard Turners' scabs.
if anyone has a name and address for the bailiff scum (in Swansea?), please post it up, as their place needs re-decorating...

disgust

26.03.2004 20:29

i am totally disgusted with the attitude of whomever wrote this (obviously so 1-sided) opinion fair enough trees r being pulled down unneccessarily ....but why cant those ppl jus bow down in defeat 10 yrs its been going on for and i will clap my hands for the ppl who were there trying to stop it then !!!!! why is it that the only time these protester come over to do thier "job" is when the work has either been given the go-ahead ,,,,or work has started where were u when u were REALLY NEEDED ?....the cries for help were less a much needed signature.... the early protests were not of strong form basically most of the protester are just there for the fun alot of mindless apes climbing trees protesting against it .....when in fact nothing can be done the green light has been given .....where were most of u when u were needed ?????can i also query ......would it be ok that for every tree that is cut down ...another would be planted elsewhere? (i once petitioned against the bypass but we were such a small number, if only the "nature loving protesters loved the woods so much then!!" I will pat those on the back that are protesting ......but only the ones that started protesting 10 yrs ago !!!

phuzzy you are an idiot

the protests recently have been the result of a failed democratic process where people like yourself petitionned against the building of the road. People tried doing things the 'Proper' way for ten years... and it still went ahead. So people got together and spent 8 weeks trying to stop it the only way left... Direct Action. If you can't understand this then you are a lost cause. Democracy doesn't work. It never has and never will.

It is also a good way of making the people waste time and money. Money which cannot be used elsewhere now to build further roads.

Did you go along and join in? As the road is a PFI project it could have easily been stopped if more people had turned up earlier in the protest.

we can still win

27.03.2004 19:46

Yes! it is a PFI project and if we can get lots of pixies down to the site then we'll be able to get pixie things going on at night :-/

It costs thousands to do the surveying etc... a bit of direct action is needed and we can still regroup and build more barricades and maybe tunnels?

lets not give up now, we've cost them 100000s in security so far.

be part of the solution, not the polution

About the 'Where were you?' stuff...

28.03.2004 04:57

Yeah, about this 'where were you before' stuff.

I was at the protest against the park and ride at the Bar End Meadows in Winchester. I was arguing for defences to be planned there for years and years, but was told that any kind of direct action would immediately doom attempts to fight the plans though the 'proper channels'.

I gave in on that one, because I thought that they might have a point.

However, when facing determined profiteering exploitation, the 'proper channels' don't work either. The blokes in suits that use the 'proper channels' are scared of being associated with protestors and people willing to take direct action, as it's bad for their image and ambitions.

So, there's the reason that people have stayed away from getting involved too early. I think it's a fair answer to the question a couple of posts above.

I also think that it shouldn't go that way in the future. People SHOULD get involved early and play their own game, rather than trying the 'proper channels' thing.

The only thing that matters to the people we're fighting against here is their bottom line. So we should start costing them lots and lots of money as soon as possible.

They already employ lawyers and solicitors and have councillors in their pockets. We can learn how to engage with that, but we ain't gonna beat them on that ground.

The trees and woods should be OUR territory, though. Make them come and play our games there. THAT is something we can do better than them.

There HAVE been reasonable reasons why the Boris clan et al have stayed away from getting stuck in too early, so lay off them for that. However, it IS time to rethink now.

Fucking ace!

We've had ongoing issues in Perth, West Australia for some time now. Its looking like a blockades gunna be cropping up real soon now in the Ludlow Forest. You guys and Girls would like this forest, its got a kinda brit country feel to it. Its also the last of the 'tall' variety Tuart forests in the world. After they cut this one, thats it. Another extinction.

Anyway. Good stuff there. I've done heaps of direct action in our south west, and its an absolute cnt of a thing, but worth it.

Dont let the fuckers grind ya down.

No compromise in defence of our mother!
