Debugging meetings?

Found this on the web: http://www.leadsfoundation.com/
Seems pretty cheap at around £40. Anti-radar/laser technology has been very successful at detecting and warning speeding motorists in the US of cops ahead.
Could this work for activists worried that their meeting spaces are bugged? Anyone know what the limitations would be? It wouldn't detect wired taps but then they must be much more hassle to install and it would presumably work in cars etc...
The AD:
The Anti-Spy Privacy Aid is intended to help consumers ensure they are not being watched in places where they should reasonably expect privacy. This unique high tech device will help you protect your privacy. It can detect wireless wiretaps and video cameras secretly installed at your home, in public areas (bathrooms, dressing rooms, boardrooms, private offices, hotel rooms, tanning beds, etc.) or any other location for privacy protection. You can make discreet checks quickly and effectively for your peace of mind.
Today's wireless Cameras are so small that it can be hidden in many objects such as smoke alarms, neck ties, glasses, telephone, radios, pens, toys and other common household or office objects. The AntiSpyCam scans the frequency ranges that are used by most wireless video devices and alerts you if one is transmitting in the vicinity. An amber light on the AntiSpyCam illuminates if there is a device transmitting signals in close proximity. A red light as well as an audio alert indicates when the AntiSpyCam locks on to the source of the signal leading you to the suspicious device. With this unique high tech detector, one can have the peace of mind in unfamiliar places.
The AntiSpyCam also detect wireless audio transmitting devices commonly used for wiretapping, perfect for security checks prior to any sensitive meetings and discussions. This easy to use AntiSpyCam is so small and lightweight; it can be carried in your pocket or purse. Anybody who is concerned about personal privacy and wants to feel secure and free from prying eyes will benefit from the Hidden Camera Detector - AntiSpyCam.
Note: Detection frequencies range from 30MHz to 2.4GHz. 1 (3Volt) Lithium Battery (included).

Stop being paranoid.
Talk freely and do not let them scare you or take your rights away.
Talking is our birth right.
OK talk sensibly and carefully but say what you want to say.
If there are not enough people around listenting to you then you have some ideas that are lost before you even start.
If anyone wants to spy around it is easy to be an activist mumbo jumbo wanker in no time.
Then what will you do with your pig detector?

The response range might be important...make sure to have an understanding of wavelengths. Best if they scan to strongest signal, rather than passive scan. Its expensive, so best to plan carefully. I think its best to grow movements rather than hide away and avoid speaking to one another. On the other hand, there'd be no harm in a few activists becoming specialized in signals - the police are quite likely to use their informants to carry in retransmitting devices, and use modified mobile phones which are always on event if the screen is off etc. All of this can also work in reverse, and signals (esp. unauthorised taps) can be legitimately intercepted. Anyone got any unscrambling software?
