During their tour through Britain and beyond, two activists from Argentina will be hosting events, including talks, slide and puppet show, in Scotland. Here are place and description of the events in Scotland.
The reports of events hosted in other places have been very enthusiastic so far.

PIQUETERAS FROM ARGENTINIAN UNEMPLOYED WORKERS MOVEMENT

As part of a UK tour the Argentina Autonomista Project is coming to
Scotland in the first week of July.

The times, dates and venues are now all confirmed - please see below.

This is a fantastic opportunity to hear first hand accounts from
participants in the massive social movements which are challenging the
status quo in Argentina. The mass media is censoring reports of a huge
social upheaval where tens of thousands are taking direct action to take
control of their lives - don't miss these events!

The piqueteros/as movement of unemployed workers is so called due to their
tactic of picketing or blockading motorways and roads. The movement has created many self-managed resources, from bakeries to community centres.
Decision-making is based on mass meetings or assemblies, and women are very
prominent in the movement.

As the Argentinian economy has nosedived, there have been massive street
protests, huge co-ordinated blockades of major roads, over 200 factories
have been taken over under workers control, more than 300 co-ordinated
micro-enterprise co-operatives organised by the unemployed, countless
neighbourhood assemblies - often meeting weekly on street corners - have been formed, and many other autonomous popular initiatives.

Neka, a piquetera of the unemployed workers of the Anibal Veron
Co-ordination is coming to share her experience of the vast movement of occupations and grass-roots organising and resistance that has swept Argentina over the past two years or more.

Graciela a puppeteer will give a show (that has already toured the two Americas with great success) about local social movements and Argentina's insurrection.
