In Athens, courageous people renamed the place in front of the Israeli Embassy in Rachel Corrie place in a symbolic act. This was done in order to remind Rachel Corrie - the peace activist who had to die for her ideals - run over by a bulldozer from the IDF.

Ca. 50 people followed the call from the Circle of Feminism Athens and renamed the place in front of the Israeli Embassy in Athen in a symbolic act into Rachel Corrie place.
Rachel Corrie was an American Peace Activist.
She was 23 year old, when she was killed.
She wanted to protect a house in Palestine, if the bulldozer from the IDF run over her, eyewitnesses reported in cold blood.

Although an investigation was demanded multipl before an international court - no public investigation was carried out.
Too the American government gave itself satisfied astonishingly with the explanation of the IDF - this was an accident.

Therefore - many thanks to these women of Athens who keep alive the memory of the peace activist Rachel Corrie who had to die for her ideals.
