Israel's alternative roadmap - or is it ? READ THIS

Even-worse-than-I-feared | 04.05.2003 05:21

Did I really just see Al Haaretz censored ? Article laying out Israel's alternative proposals disappears after brief exposure. Is an Israeli minister taking this appalling counter-proposal to Washington or not ?

An article appeared on the website of the Israeli newspaper El Haaretz.
I read it and archived it on my machine.
When I went back again to the site at about 5.00 BST it was gone. Searched everywhere. Totally vanished.
Never seen that happen before.

I learned of the article by reading
 http://uk.indymedia.org/front.php3?article_id=66633&group=webcast
and went to check it out myself. The text was exactly as he quotes.
If you use his link,
 http://www.haaretzdaily.com/hasen/pages/ShArt.jhtml?itemNo=289389&contrassID=2&subContrassID=1&sbSubContrassID=0&listSrc=Y
you will still get to the article.
But it now appears to be disconnected from the site, if I go to www.haaretzdaily.com I can't find it anywhere. If I use the site search engine, it doesn't appear.

The article claims that an Israeli govt minister is on his way to Washington with a counter-roadmap which involves total destruction of the Palestinian Authority, annexation of Gaza and West Bank by Israel, and deportation of everyone who resists to Jordan.

We really need to know if this is truly Israel's response to the international peace effort. Effectively a call to war.
