Where are they?

Are we children to be treated this way?

So the dan/joel entity post the same article on these wires and a lot of commentry is produced.

Then someone takes the decision that we can no longer see those posts or those comments.

Are we being treated as children?

Do we need the nannie on our modem?

As I repeatly been told - this is not a free speech forum. I can accept this in extremise, i don't want to wade through the filthy gutters inhabitated by the sun/news of the world. Nor do I wish to see the neanderthal scrapping their intellectual knuckles across the beautiful skin of non-whites/whites/gays/lesbians etcetc.

But its too late.

I saw, read and replied to the missing posts - I KNOW there content. Whoever made the decision to remove them is either currently suffering under a mild delusion - we all go there - and has made a mistake, or [they] fundamentally have no respect for us as individual intellects and have decided for us THEMSELVES.

You play into some dangerous hands with the latter tactic, and have placed yourselves at the mercy of a very dubious and constantly encroaching agenda - sanatise this site too much and it becomes just another loud void.

Restore the threads.

Indymedia is not a discussion board

30.04.2003 20:07

The newswire is meant for meaningful coverage of activist issues, not for inane rants or fascist filth. There are hundreds of discussions board sites for open debate, go to one of them if you want to do that.

Alternatively, e-mail the IMC-UK editorial team and ask for a sepearte discussion board/rantwire on the site, keeping rants seperate for the proper news, and making sure that Indymedia UK doesn't become a joke, but ensuring that it is not overtly censored either.

If you really believe that, then why not take off the 'add your comments' link?

Dan's posts enliven the wire, and provide fuel for fascists like me (grin).

Posters here are mostly mature, mostly politically active, and mostly sensible.

Just because Dan's posts attract a lot of anti-Zionist replies is no reason to hide them, any more than the hiding of BNP/right wing posts is justified.

The wire is quiet enough that we should judge for ourselves.

Twit.

I was talking about actual articles

But again, I do tire of seeing flame war after flame war after flame war engulfing the NEWSwire.

I'm with Thomas......

I'm with thomas on this one, the newswire is for News from "grass routes activists." Not a place personal rants and recrimination.

The newswire is for grass routes activist to publish local news. IMC-UK is not a chat room and it's not a disscusion board for personal oppinion OR a place where people just copy and paste endless articles.

My addvice to anybody who feels agreived, read the edditorial guidlines, and 'about' indymedia on the top menu bar.
