SHAME to Athens IMC editorial team ?

As for Athens IMC , there are some serious things happening. There are down for 3 days. There is no real information from the IMC team in Athens. They claim servers upgrade etc. Mr Miller the US ambassador in Athens started a campaign to the Greek media with suggestion to “calm down” and instructions for “neutral” coverage of the war ( US liberators etc..) .

There are strong accusations that the Athens IMC is CONTROLED from a leading Greek newspaper – ELEYTHEROPTYPIA. Mr. Tegopoulos, the owner of this news paper, is allied very close to the government , and a leading figure in the Greek media trying to control the left wing of the Greek society.

Mr. Miller (US ambassador) has visited the owners of the news papers also. There are accusations against the editorial team of Athens IMC, controlled from Mr. Tegopoulos ( Eleutherotypia) , that following the orders of Miller – Tegopoulos, deliberately CLOSED down the IMC Athens , with childish excuses.

It is very difficult for me to believe in coincidence, that is to have the server down for 4th day now, and no realistic explanation given.

I DONT KNOW IF TEGOPOULOS IS INVOLVED WITH INDYMEDIA ATHENS-THESSALONIKI, BUT I KNOW THAT ALMOST EVERYBODY HAS THEIR PRICE....

WITH ALL THIS AND THE 16 TH OF APRIL WHEN IS THE MEETING OF 41 EU PRIMEMINISTERS IN ATHENS , SOMETHING IS GOING WRONG WITH THE GREEK TEAM..

Puzzling

Perhaps the most puzzling aspect of the Greek IMC affair is the complete silence of the rest of the IMC community. What is the UK Indymedia team saying about this? If the IMC has been infiltrated and sabotaged by state agents, then what does this mean for the entire indymedia project and the security of everyone involved, including readers and contributors?

The Greek IMC issue should be resolved immediately, with a statement by the IMC. Otherwise, indymedia will be completely undermined by its silence.

IMC israel down for almost the entire 'war' -changing servers ... just a coincidence
IMC Palestine virtually[sic] hacked to death, left hanging with the occassional ability to post comments, but not review them ... just a coincidence

This great adventure is being 'rolled back'.

It needs the help of techno geeks, perhaps they can prevent the death of free speech on the net and its replacement with internet 2 (new and improved - washes whiter than white)

All IMCs are likely to be targets

You can be sure that all IMCs worldwide are targets for infiltration and control, if
not targetted for direct disruption and shutdown. Think about it, it is a major threat
to the monopoly that they have on the media and from their point of view MUST be
shutdown.

By the way, Argentina IMC was evicted last week.
