Demonstrators/Shame on you two!

Simon Willace | 04.04.2003 01:53

It is not enough to focus on one issue, use the force deal with the disease not the symptom

A sense of shame can be felt when you find that your efforts are not enough, shame can be felt when the ignorant learn, shame is finding out that you support the war because you pay the tax and share the comforts of the pig farm.George orwell was'nt wrong. oink oink!

You work, pay tax and purchace the luxuries only you can afford because your country exploits and harms all others, change that and maybe you'll get change.

Isn’t democracy marvelous? No wonder we want to export it by force, Just like a crusade, force it down their throats & make em gag, then like our own they can be on the leash, herded together by the dogs and made to support the insupportable. So long as they Pay the tax let them have an indynews let them demonstrate peacefully, they are only sheep, later they will come back to the fold demanding comfort, and then we’ll have them.

And your reaction.

Can’t wait for the next election! Then we’ll show them! we’ll vote them out! OH please!… if Tony Blair loses you’ll get the Conservatives, if you waste your vote the greens or independents they will capitulate to their masters, you lose. It’s a two party preferred system and each prefers the consumerist model of economics.

Surely this episode proved that democratic governments do not represent the people. It's like saying Communists are people who have nothing and are willing to share it.

You offer no alternatives to war, there was only ever one alternative while there was only ever one reason to fight. Alternative fuels for an alternative future.

Shouting No War! And reminding us that Blix and the UN offered an alternative, is wasted air. No blood for oil! is no alternative and Blix never offered alternatives to War.
The war is not about freedom, despotic dictators or WMD and while you knew that, the meaning of it should be obvious.

May I remind you that the war is about Oil?. It’s a small point but the peaceful disarmament of Iraq would not get the oil.
You could just as easily say that Saddam Hussein offered a real alternative to Gulf war 1, before the War on terror and Afghanistan when he advised Washington that he intended to invade Kuwait. The US could have responded differently well before the Iraqi forces massed on the border, but the US stood aside and then turned on their friend, it was a gift an excuse to invade and get the oil.
You could also say Ussama Bin Laden offered the west peace before the US turned him into a Terrorist. His army; remember the one that kicked Rusky butt; they would have beaten the Iraqis out of Kuwait, but no, that would not have resulted in US controlled Oil.

Therefore just for oil the west has caused wars, all three so far. And as consumerism suffers restrictions only while there are shortages in supplies therfore we can expect to see more wars in the future.
All your parading around will not offer alternatives while the reason for war is Oil.

Your economy depends upon it, and the Arabs have it, therefore you must eventually have to trade for it, that’s if your governments wanted peace, so what are you going to trade? whats the peaceful route to future resourse restrictions?
Show me what you’ve got.
Your farms produce nothing the Arabs can’t buy from elsewhere.
Your technology can be bought from Asia.
Your money is based on economics, which are reliant on the barrel price of oil.
What is it that you’ve got that the Arabs can not get from elsewhere?.
They can trade with China central Europe or Southeast Asia you have nothing to offer them.
So that’s the road to peace is it? economic world domination by Arab Muslims is that what you want?
I think your find that alternative to that and the present conflict is the same, the going rate for oil is 8 pints of blood a barrel, we can only offer them their own blood for their own oil, we have nothing else to trade.

So while you think about this and lick your wounds, do me a favor go home and sit on the armchair. You’ll do as much good there as you will waving a banner and shouting or you could redirect your attention to offering a real alternative to War.
Work for the promotion of alternative fuel, it’s the only way to devalue oil and remove the power that it has.
Inturupt Normal Working Hours by not paying the price of the consumerist age.
Alter the consumerist model of economics, its following is destroying the planet, were already spending more to provide for its fuel than it provides for our comfort.

And the demonstrator wave plackards, and shout while the planet is destroyed.

So yes, Demonstrator shame on you if that’s all you can do. The war is only a symptom of a much greater disease, it is the indicator of a fundamental flaw in the modern age, its symptoms are also pollution and global warming. It is consumerism and unless that is dealt with there will be no change,no future, not one worth dieing for but one that will kill us all.

Thankyou for your time.

Oh Brittania...

04.04.2003 09:38

Read some history. There you can find the role of the UK in the creation of Irak "à la carte" and other stories of brutal interventions all over the world: Africa, India, Greece, etc.

But, what can you do? Now you have a master called USA - a master who will consider if he will throw you a bone (again read history! Look what happened to Fujimori for example: he did all he could to impose the US policy in Peru, and now that he is useless to them he is Wanted by Interpol!)

The Empire has fallen a long time ago, and the old glory has survived only in some aristocrats and in some other peoples' minds. This is a very effective way to escape from the miserable reality of the modern British society: the 100 pound pensioners, the restrictions of human rights and the "flexible" (sic) labour force.

And about Iraq? I suggest that you should volunteer to collect the cluster bombs that "our boys" are throwing there, singing "Oh, Brittania..."

Division does not help

04.04.2003 10:00

This war is actually about many things, oil being one of the primary reasons whilst others include a bizarre rise of neo conservatism in the US government that is linked with but not exlusively to hard line Zionism.Lets also not forget the rapture Christians.

The "left" has always been too fragmented and divisive- but the peace movement has shown that different pressure groups can come together and be effective. It may not have stopped the war but every peace march is a small chink in the armour of the corporate institutions and their governments.

Don't trash what has been done

Praising pigs

04.04.2003 10:01

Pigs are fantastic creatures. Highly social, extremely intelligent and clean. They are also tasty to eat, for those who like to eat meat. The use of the word "pig" to describe a policeman or a politician is extremely offensive to this beautiful creature. So I want to hear no more abuse of pigs, okay?

bad advice

04.04.2003 12:05

to simon, you said you may aswell sit at home and not do anything. that is crap and you know it! we have to do what we can, and there are different ways to stop the war. Certianly buying oil does not help the situation, but demonstrating does help, although it cant stop here, what we really need is a revolution! but a revolution has to start from somewhere, gaining pubvlic support, and demonstrations is where to start, but after that we need to act fast

Rhys

Thankyou for your time

04.04.2003 13:10

Rhys, revolutions are never very clear cut, france had one choped all the heads then embrassed a would be emporer at the first chance they got until his defeats proved his worth, regimes come and go empires rise and fall all because we live as if there is no tommorow and we never recognise the repeats of yesterday.
And no I really do believe that Demonstrators should sit down for a while in a nice comfy arm chair and think, it's not that thier intentions are wrong it is that their dirrection is misguided, to grasp the fact that we have never had peace can only prove that we can never attain it using present methods, searching out knowledge will strengthen their cause but not while they run around in frustration.
Oh and 'Ram' is a twelve year old Kensington white boy he's playing you, but he teaches us one thing we feel insulted even though we are not to blame, or are we?.

white supremacy

05.04.2003 16:21

Well, for all the attention of anyone concerned everytime PIG was mentioned it should remind you that it is the most widely used word for white supremacy.

Now what is white supremacy?

Well white supremasicsm is not from mid west found amongst bald heads as most idiots have been led to believe.
It is the minority thinking *predominantly found in the so called western countries (The G8 nations...NZ, AUS, .. inclusive) every colour of skin (although mostly white) that think they are superior to the rest of humanity. Come on accept it! It is found amongst all of you.
The western kids just act out some cheap student art movie while protesting about issues at best. Many increasingly think they play an important preassigned part for varied 'white supremascist' cartels.

I have advice for to too (with love of course)
When you protest against something think about the real cause behind it and how much you oppose it and how much you side with the protest that you participate to give strength to.
To shout 'slaughter' one day and then shout 'our troops' is a good exampple of the dangerous game you play. The slaughter happens and the butchers again become normal troops. This centuries old game has to stop.

What has to do with the energy policies?

White supremasicist started off with fossil fuel mass production.Coal mining and the industrial revolution. Since then energy policy for the plant has been hijacked by a minory of babaric aggressors.

What is the alternative?
Well the first most important thing is that the alternative is not the and should not be in the domain of western (note my emphasis in cutting down even on white supremacy here) way of life. Becasue the ways of life is what fuels the dependency on norm. Get it?

Should the alternative really deliver trains running at 133.56 MPH? Do you get it?

If not ask?

By the way, I respect the idea of not insulting the common pig. but to say that a pig tastes good is sick. What did you eat the pig's left belly or the bum? I know this pisses you off so I call you a PIG fo eating a pig carcases. Hey I am serious this is not for your amusement. Do not eat meat. But even if you do stop being white supremacist. Being vegan and beign a white supremacsit also is bad.
