The protestor even got a short interview in which he succinctly explained that a majority of the country didn't want this war. The piece also reported favourably of a growing anti-war feeling in this country and throughout the world, moving on to news that Russia and China have joined Germany and France in expressing grave doubts over the current march to war. OK, I know these countries have their own interests and agendas, but coupled with the news that polls in the US are showing a rapid waning in desire for a war, I think that we're seeing a sea-change in the way the media are reporting things at the moment, and we can certainly use this for the good. Even Kenneth Clarke came out against the war on Question Time.

I think we need to discuss credible alternatives to remove Saddam Hussein from power and hand over the country to a true democracy. It's the last thing the capitalists would want, but with a surge of anti-war opinion and a realistic alternative that could be made to work - well who knows what might be possible?

Only big danger I can see now is if a big terrorist attack should happen (staged or otherwise). Otherwise I really think that this war can be forced to be averted.
