Civil disobedience against the war!

Ordinary A to B protest marchs will do nothing to stop this coming war. Only mass civil disobedience will. We need to be organising mass civil disobedience not just going on demos!
The whole anti-war movement seems to be concentrating on traditional protests such as lobbys of Parliament and Ato B marches and rallies instead of planning real direct action which will really put pressure on the government to back off from attacking Iraq!
I suggested a while ago a mass blockade of Oxford Street (remember Mayday 2001 when a small similar action caused chaos). Another person on here suggested occupying the MI6 building. But that is a bit over ambitious as the cops would quickly seal off all roads around the building and arrest everyone taking part in the occupation as well as not being able to get many people who would be up for it.
Recently an RAF base was targetted in Northwood but only 200 people turned up so it was useless! Targetting central London and other big cities for a mass blockade would be far easier and really make an impact while carrying very little risk of arrest.

I know you probably love the sound of your own voice but please try to spare the rest of us a bit, eh? And leave some room on the newswire for, uh, NEWS!

As for the demo, why not have an anti-cap bloc starting at a different location, going in a different direction, with a different vibe and energetic militancy than the rather boring rally, which is all packed tightly into a cordoned off area making the experience slow, tiring and far from empowering.
At the last demo, I even heard shouts of support for Bin Laden from one bunch of religio-fanatics/fascists and I don't think the anti-capitalist movement wants to associate with these reactionaries. So what's planned? Is a bloc organised? Is it going to meet somewhere different - Oxford street sounds good, as does Liverpool Street station - after all, think of the profits generated by war through many stock exchange companies. An anti-capitalist bloc should at least have its specific target as the bastions of the capitalist system.
I'm sure a glance at the route of the main march would make deciding on an alternative - empowering - anti-war march start location far easier, depending on our objectives.... Alternatively, we could organise a split from the main march, but this has been anticipated by the cops at previous marches, so could be really difficult; also there's the issue of hijacking a liberal-organised march, which would be unpopular.

did you go to Northwood and risk arrest yourself, or did you judge it a failure from behind the safety of your PC?
your comments are worthless, and you are a bore.

I see your thinking, but hold on there. How do you think BBC/CNN/Sky would report that? I can just imagine the Sun headline: 'anti-war protest splits as anarchists condemn 'fascist' Muslims'. Tell me I'm wrong!
Surely we need one huge united peaceful protest on 15 Feb. We can do our own things any other day.
