no one is illegal | 21.08.2002 18:39

Ahmed, arrested at a demo during the Strasbourg border camp, was sentenced today to 8 months and fined ca 700 Euros.

"noborder in exodus" report that in his trial this afternoon, Ahmed was condemned to 8 month in jail, including 5 month of probation, that means he only has to do 3 months. He has to pay 2 bills (one for "outrage/insult?/", the other for "violence") worth 380 and 350 Euro.
A press conference was held before, with pretty flowered and coloured masks, and huge cardboad-made guns. Only 7 persons were allowed to enter the audience room.
A more detailed story about the hearing will be posted soon.

Ahmed was the only person from the noborder camp who was locked up in prison after his arrest, and the charges against him were the heaviest. 7 other people will stand in trial next february, and many more who were arrested on other occasions of global protest are also waiting for their trials.

Ahmed's support team adds:
"You were all cool to make various actions, thank you for the informations and statements, we will write a complete report tonight. Kisses and see you later"
