New York Jews Rock!

It's a frightening time, my friends. As a new breed of anti-Semitism sweeps certain parts of the world, and in lieu of Daniel Peal's tragic death, we must band together as humans and hold off this language of hate that has haunted my people for thousands of years, paving the way for the Death camps. Once again people are loosing their individualism, succumbing to "groupthink" and acting in fascistic ways biased on racial hatred. I now feel more connected to how my relatives must have felt during WWII as the stories of terror and death began to waft over seas. Being proud of being Jewish means loving others of different ethnic and religious origins. For me it also means being highly critical of the Israeli’s government's actions, as well as against the terrorist forces. As New York Jews and radicals, we must stand with all people as the advocators of peace that we have always been.

Hope for a just, viable peace in israle lies not with a bunch of neo-fascist suicide bombers, but in the Israeli peace movement. We should focus our efforts in promoting solidarity with these groups not scaring them off by spouting a load of racist rhetoric about "Zionazis" and all that shit.
Peace, love and stuff.

Instead, we keep hearing about the "new anti-semitism". Do you have in mind Latuf's cartoon series? That completely bogus claim has led to closure of IMC Switzerland. Whether or not charges are made, it serves as useful propaganda for those who seek to continue the subjugation of the Palestinian people.
I agree it's a frightening time, for the people of Afghanistan, Pakistan, India, Colombia, the Phillipines, the occupied territories, Israel proper etc, etc. But I fail to see the connection with an emerging anti-semitism for which no evidence is given.

About Anti-Semitism...

No, it does not. Palestinians and Arabs are Semitic people, as well as Jews of Middle Eastern descent, who make up only a minority of Israel's population. Most Jewish people, in Israel and elsewhere, are Euro-Caucasian descendents of Europeans who converted to Judaism centuries ago. Persecution of Palestinians and Arabs is just as anti-Semitic as persecuting Jews of Middle Eastern descent-which means that with its incessant attacks against Palestinians, Israel is a patently ANTI-SEMITIC state!
