Bombing continues...

john | 14.11.2001 15:34

Blair has just announced on Prime Minister's Questions that the bombing of Afganistan is ongoing, and that he does not support its immediate termination.

I was wondering whether or not people think that now Taliban forces are in complete disarray, and Kabul has fallen that this creates a *better* time to oppose the bombing, and to stop it once and for all - or is this an opportunistic response?

I am mainly concerned about this point in relation to the
Stop the War demo on Sunday, which some people seem to feel is largely irrelevant now.

sieze the moment, stop the bombing

we should still protest

It is crucial in fact that the N18 demo is massive, and all the indications from my locality is that it will be. We are mobilising large numbers from one small-ish place to attend.

The rest of the UK must join us, the rest of the world in fact must join us...
A huge demo on N18 will give the war-mongering politicians the surprise of their lives, and more importantly make people who only have the biased lies of the media as info think:

If the war is going so well, why are there so many against it?

The time is now!

Events are in flux, still shifting as we speak. The future is not yet determined. Not yet set in stone. Now is our chance.

We can stop the bombing, now more than ever we have a chance.
This is the crucial time, the most vital juncture yet in the stop the war campaign.

The stakes will be high On N18.

Here's for a peaceful, but massive demo. And if the cops try to pull anything, peaceful resistance, and maximum publicity exposure of *their* violence.

In an anti globalisation rally/blockade/ attempt to storm the barricades, violence is obviously a moot issue. But in a PEACE demo, any violence by protestors, EVEN IF PROVOKED, will hand a massive publicity victory to the warmongers.

Here's to N18. Viva Peace. Viva Justice.

Viva Afghanistan.

Keep the momentum going

Stop the War demo irrelevant? You must be joking, the Coalition will have to be brought to justice for crimes against humanity, or are thousands of civilian deaths and an impending humanitarian disaster irrelevant?

Bush promised to take this war to 60 countries "harbouring terrorists" and Jack Straw focused on Africa at his UN address, so they don't feel "left out" in the war on terror!

Peace Out

Irrelevant???

In response to Peace Up's mention of Jack straw and africa, did anyone else notice Straw's freudian slip during his UN speech:

"there must be no great games in Afri - Afghanistan"

the real enemy

I'm with 'V'; time to target the real enemy, those bastard TV presenters. I have clinching evidence (which obviously can't be revealed for security reasons) linking Sept 11 and subsequent events to a conspiracy involving Alan Titchmarsh, Gloria Hunniford and Ruby Wax. And Ruby Wax is American, what more proof do you need?
