South Bank Succumbs to Corporate Vampire

Hadrian | 08.11.2000 19:57

The boring South Bank Arts Centre in London is in "partnership" with Shell Oil and Railtrack

The poor old South Bank never attracted much interest from radicals, but now, compared with the nightmare of the Tate Modern, a Debord worst scenario of a theme park of modern art, it began to seem like a haven of a disappearing world.
Proudly boasting their new liason with big business, the South Bank leaflet is fronted by a pic of Noseferatu the vampyre. Quite appropriate.

Please edit the articles before you print them. Tis not 'Noseferatu' but 'Nosferatu'.....a very popular figure in the US of A.

This article was too short. I expected some juicy bits on the event and at least one picture attached......But sadly there was neither.

*sniff*

It was a bit short for a report, but in truth there's not much to say apart from the leaflet, "Opening up the South Bank" (carving up, more like !) which listed loads of names ive never heard of and a couple I have, such as Railtrack and Shell. As far as I can tell, the South Bank has a "Masterplan" in partnership with these cretins but they dont go into any detail.
