Tickets available for coaches to the March for Peace and Liberty through Central London on Saturday 24th September

A request for activists to join a blockade of the Rolls Royce factory in Derby, where they make the engines for the Trident submarines is going out.

There will be a weekend of events starting on Saturday 22nd October with leafleting and events in Derby. This will be followed on Sunday by training for the blockade on the Monday morning. Trident Ploughshares have asked people who want to join the blockade to come to the training day as details of the following day will be given.

The DEMAND Campaign Group on behalf of the residents of the East Midlands
Region has taken part in the Juliain Worricker programme on Aircraft Noise to
be broadcast this Sunday at 10am until 1pm 25th September 2005 on BBC 5 Live.
This programme explores aircraft noise particularly from night flying and
the Government's involvement. The DEMAND Campaign Chairman Steve Charlish was
interviewed last week, next to Nottingham East Midlands Airport at 2am in the
early hours against a backdrop of totally excessive aircraft noise and
activity," further " it has to be one of the noisiest places in Europe in the
middle of the night" and "potentially disturbing thousands of innocent
residents with every flight across the region".

The deadline for the Parliamentary Inquiry into Special Educational Needs is near – Monday 3rd October and has had no publicity to date. It is an ideal opportunity for anyone with an interest to have an input towards a report that will make an impact on policies that affect what is experienced, for the young person, the parent/carer, and the school.

Just a reminder for people about the Public Meeting of NAIL; 'Nottingham Against Incineration & Landfill'. The meeting will be held at the Sneinton Hermitige Community Centre, Sneinton Boulevard NG2 4GN, from 7pm - 9pm. Guest speakers will include NAIL and Friends of the Earth.

We will be discussing the planned expansion of the incinerator, its effects on your health, the environment and increased traffic, importing waste into Nottingham to further pollute our air.

Volunteers have been working on this exciting project since October, and it's time to put the walls up now! Straw bales are a low-impact, highly insulating and user-friendly building material. The construction process is highly inclusive, satisfying and fun.
