MI5 have been accused of being "out of control" after Camden Somali Muslim youths were blackmailed and subjected to heavy handed threats by MI5, says an article in the Independent. Young men were approached by "postmen" who turned out to be MI5 who threatened, harrassed & blackmailed the Camden youths into informing on friends and neighbours. They were told they would be "set up".
The men contacted MP Frank Dobson and the police. The Home Secretary refused to intervene.
Members of the community in Camden have said of MI5 that this behaviour is counter productive and has ruined relations with the Security Services.
The youths were subjected to incessant threatening phone calls, were put under surveillance and their families were threatened. They were told their families "would not be safe" and that they would be "set up" as terrorists if they did not comply.
The men are resident in Kentish Town.

Campaigners have been targeted, threatened, smeared and persecuted. Neighbours have been forced into informing using underhand means. Activists have also been the subject of "whispering" campaigns, provocation, goading and incitement. Campaigners have reported that mail has gone missing [postmen again?], they have been subjetced to harrassment by telephone, on the internet and have had homes broken into. Is this too the work of MI5? People who have spoken out have been accused of "making stuff up" and where they believe they have identified possible MI5 agents have been accused of slander, libel, of being liars and fantasists. With the coming Camden Lab and the growing number of people experiencing this there could be a chance that rogue security services agents are responsible.

Many people in Camden have noticed that recently neighbours have become suddenly and increasingly "nosy"...that people have been barraged with very personal, invasive questions throughout the borough.
People who have been recruited into intimidating and informing on people have probably been left alone...while the victims lives have been made a misery. If indeed it is MI5 behind this then they are out of control. They have been accused of torture and mental cruelty. One female victim in Camden [a political campaigner] has said that men told her that her family would be harmed. Frightening men issued rape and death threats and the woman is still being threatened to "shut her mouth" about the treatment. She was physically attacked and it is believed that the people doing this were acting on behalf of MI5. A female believed to be working for MI5 has bullied the woman further. Victims have said that they have been "gangstalked". One victim says that several of the people intimidating her have used the same name making it difficult to report what has happened and to be taken seriously.
Camden's Somalian Muslim youths have been the victims of a long and concerted campaign in Camden. Many have been issued with ASBOS to keep them out of Camden Town and have been subjected to heavy handed policing, possibly at the behest of MI5. This has bred an atmosphere of resentment and mistrust of authority which is hardly surprising.
Questions are also being asked about "mysterious deaths" connected to Camden Drug Dealers and their relatives who have died in police custody / in connection to drug dealing in Camden High Street. Ibrahima Sey and his cousin Kebba Jobe were both killed by police. Kebba was killed in Camden. Mahir Osman died on Camden High Street on the Camden Frontline...when his brother Faisal Osman enquired about the slowness of the police enquiry and not long after this he was killed. His killer has not been found.

MI5 are believed to have place personnel into drug and mental health / counselling services to gain intelligence on people. People using drugs projects are being pushed for info on drug dealers....particularly Somalian men. Drug users are not being helped but questioned by people who come over like the police and seem to have no counselling training but act like interrogators.

The secret police in Britain are unaccountable to anyone but themselves. Their bosses occasionally 'brief' the Prime Minister of the day (tell him want they want him to know) and are then given carte blanche to get on with their Stasi tactics as outlined above.
The Investigatory Powers Tribunal (IPT) is a joke. They have NEVER found in favour of a complainant, same as no police have ever been charged with murder. The IPT was set up to address issues of unaccountability in the secret police, but merely provides a semblance of accountability that can be pointed to when it is occasionally noticed that the secret police are out of control, as they always have been. The IPT holds all its hearings in private which the complainant is not allowed to attend, after which the complainant is told that their complaint has not been upheld, with no explanation as to why, the procedure, who was questioned etc. etc. and no appeal procedure. It is itself part of the secret state which covers the democratic deficit of the secret police.
