US troops have completly encircled the town and are starting to move into its outskirts. Large numbers of civilian and troop casualties are expected in the house-to-house fighting that will follow.
Already thousands of residents have fled but now the US forces are refusing to let any male between the ages of 15-50 to leave or enter the city.
100,000 people have already died in Iraq since the start of the invasion.

Protest at Falluja Glasgow Saturday 13th November

Protests have continued in Glasgow and Edinburgh and other places in Scotland on Monday and Tuesday evenings. Over 100 people have attended each event – in Glasgow there were close to 200 people and speakers included Rose Gentle, the mother of Gordon Gentle who was killed earlier in the year in Iraq. Rose is due to leave for Downing Street to lobby the Prime Minister tomorrow.
At the vigil tonight in Glasgow it was agreed to continue meeting in George Square at 5pm every evening this week in the run up to the march called by Scottish CND.
On Saturday a Scotland-wide demonstration has been called to protest at the attack on Falluja.
Assemble in George Square, Glasgow at 11.30.
City centre march moving off at 12.00
Return to George Square to lay a wreath of white poppies at the Cenotaph and for a ‘die in’.
Bring things to make noise with – whistles, drums, bagpipes, pots and pans.
