Manchester Meeting
2009 will be a busy year, and many are already thinking about travelling to some of the international protests against the summits of global leaders and politicians. On Thursday the 29th January there will be an info-share and group discussion on these forthcoming summits and a more general open debate about the pro’s and con’s of counter-summit mobilisations. It is hoped that this session will prove useful for all those beginning to think about how to respond to this years mobilisations. It will start at 7pm in meeting room 1 at the University of Manchester Students Union on Oxford Road. This event is open to everyone.
The Summits to be discussed will be
NATO in Strasbourg, in April: propping up Western militarism
G20 in London, April 1st: Restructuring the
Global Financial Economy
G8 in Italy this summer.
No Borders Camp in France in summer.
The UN Climate Change Talks (COP15), Copenhagen, December.
hope to see you there!
