FREEDOM OF MOVEMENT FOR ALL
For a World without Borders, States and War!

Roll up, roll up...
Across the world we see an unprecedented increase in border management and
social control. The UK government are at the forefront of this. And they
are holding their annual party conference in Manchester, from 20th to 25th
September 2008.

The Stop the War Coalition have called for a march through Manchester on
Saturday 20th September. We invite all anti-authoritarians, anarchists and
all those against states, nations and borders to join the 'freedom of
movement' bloc, and to play a trick or two on those clowns in the Labour
Party circus.

Let's collectively imagine a world without borders and wars and fight
together to realise this!

Let's come together on September 20th at 12.30pm. Assemble at All Saints Park. Look out for the red and black flags.

Called by Manchester No Borders (www.manchesternoborders.org.uk) and Manchester Anarchist Federation (manchester at af-north.org)

arrest and deportation as part of Operation Protector

06.09.2008 18:50

Operation Protector is the name given to Greater Manchester Police's security operation ahead and during the Labour Party Conference. In a publicity stunt move with the likely result to scare away protestors with uncertain immigration status, they GMP have deporated a Manchester man and arrested three more using immigration law.

Just so us out-of-town activists can find it if we want to go on the tour.

Escape from manchester

18.09.2008 14:21

Does this mean we are going to see the same violence and oppression that was seen at the RNC in St. Paul's recently with obvious harassment of independent media and peaceful protesters, they do appear after all to have followed the St. Paul's model thus far with their ring of steel, check points, pre-emptive sweeps and officers from the UK Border Agency, Security Services, Military, Special Branch and the GMP's Anti-Terror Unit creating a combined force to police the event.

With the stop the war march on Saturday predicting numbers of 30,000+ , this march could set the tone for the entire event one way or another so lets hope the GMP in there wisdom see the sense of letting it pass off peacefully without any of the usual police antics and interference.

Why is such an opearation never in place around parliament after all if it was truly to protect politicians as oposed to opressing the masses surely that is the one place it would be needed to protect all the parties in the house, but of course we all know this isnt a defensive operation it is 100% offensive and designed to anger and intimiddate anyone that may attend with a disenting voice. After all we wouldn't any OAP heklers getting into the galleries would we.

If only someone could travel back in time and give Guy Fawkes some Semtex.

I doubt we're going to see trouble of the scale that happened at the RNC. Protest and policing in America are pretty different to how they are here. STWC marches tend to be pretty passive.
