Abundance Manchester is a new project to pick fruit from gardens and public places and distribute it with bike trailers to groups who need it. These will include The Destitution Project, which provides food to destitute asylum seekers, The Mustard Tree, which distributes food to homeless people, a healthy eating group for mothers with young children and a homeless hostel for young people.
The final meeting before we start picking will be on WEDNESDAY 20TH AUGUST at 6PM at KIM BY THE SEA cafe, 49 Old Birley Street (opposite Hulme Garden Centre). New people are very welcome!
At the meeting we will fill in people new to the project on how it will work and arrange the practicalities of the fruit picking and distributing. Also we will be transforming old green t-shirts into DIY 'Abundance Manchester' t-shirts, so bring along a green t-shirt and something to use to write on it if you can!
If you have any questions about the project, or if you or someone you know has unwanted fruit we can harvest, please contact us at abundancemanchester@yahoo.co.uk
