Preston Public Meeting To Debate Ribble Barrage and Floodplain Housing Threat

Barrage protestors will address a public meeting to debate controversial plans to develop the River Ribble.

The meeting will have presentations on all aspects of £800m Riverworks project – which includes a controversial plan to build a barrage – and a public question and answer session.

Speakers from Preston Council, the RSPB, the Wildlife Trust, the Ribble Fisheries Consultative Association, Save the Ribble Campaign and Riversway councillors are attending the meeting, which is being
held in rooms A and B at Preston Town Hall on November 20 between 7pm and 9pm
