The film is an informative and engaging overview of ten years of loss of civil liberties under Tony Blair, covering the loss of privacy with the Identity Cards Act, the loss of the right to free speech and protest with the Serious Organised Crime and Police Act, and the other legislation which brought in 3,000 new criminal offences under Blair.
Despite its serious subject matter, the film is light-hearted, witty and entertaining, and well worth the 5.50 ticket price.
We'll need some people to flyer outside from 8-8:15pm until the screening begins at 8:30pm, while I'm inside setting up - any volunteers should meet outside the Cornerhouse at that time and look out for other NO2ID supporters who will have flyers to distribute. We'll also flyer after the Q&A session, though unfortunately we're not allowed to distribute flyers within the cinema.
