AND 300 Industrial Workers strike for 3days at LNG Terminals at Milford Haven, over safety issues.
Waiting for Eviction @Brecon Tree camp against the Pipe, in the sun and lush countryside soon 2b destroyed. Court Case:Human Rights Issues in Question..
You may think there are rules and regulations in place to protect Wildlife and National parks, but apparently not with energy projects, or rather, massive fossil fuel infrastructure projects, cos any concerns like that/ DEFRA legislations and licences/ Planning Processes are over ridden by the signature from the Secretary of State, stating its okay... and of course, the aforementioned companies stand to make alot of £money$!!
AT THE HEARING IN THE HIGH COURT, Cardiff, FOR POSSESSION of the camp AND AN INJUNCTION STOPPING DIRECT ACTION ON PHASE 2 OF THE PIPELINE: the court heard on Thursday that Human Rights Issues were in Question. As the whole Pipeline was begun before anyone knew anything about it, i.e. without time for people/ locals to begin lobbying, or even to find out what it is in their backyard, the entire project has denied Freedom to Peaceful Protest, and Freedom of Expression.
The protesters and Local residents represented themselves, and were very surprised to find the judge sympathetic enough to listen to all our concerns for two hours !! ..all about safety of the Pipe, and how without Direct Action and protest at Tebanos, and Cilfrew, safety aspects would've been overlooked that could've caused a fatality. Despite all of this, and the Human rights issues in question OR the track record of Transco and National Grid when it comes to gas and coal fatalities,
the court ruled for the Possession of land called the Dingle where the camp is situated, AND AN INJUNCTION on the whole of Phase 2 of the pipe between Felindre and Tirley in Gloucestershire. the Injunction relates directly to anyone tresspassing on the working strip of land, with the intention of stopping work. At present it is an Interim Injunction, so it will be heard again in Court when we have had time to actually get proper representation.
Lets hope the UK doesnt sack off any more Human rights laws before that happens!!
Get thee to enjoy the sun in Brecon before its gone!!
