Let's enlist Her Majesty The Queen to help Huddersfield Stop The War!

René Thomas | 21.05.2007 23:49 | Anti-militarism | Iraq

The Queen is visiting Huddersfield this Thursday, 24th May. Our attendance could provide a show of support for her to speak out against the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan.

" RECRUIT ROYALTY TO REJECT RAGING

RIGHT-WING RASCAL RINGMASTERS! "

Are you aware that Her Majesty Elizabeth II and Prince Philip are coming on a trip to Huddersfield this Thursday (24th May), and are due to go on a 'walkabout' at 2.45pm in St George's Square (directly in front of Huddersfield Railway Station)?

I know it's short notice, but being a bit of a royalist, it never occured to me that the royal visit would be something to protest against - however, maybe a DEMONSTRATION, rather than a protest would be in order, to try & encourage Her Majesty or The Duke of Edinburgh to indicate some recognition of the horrendous conflicts which the armies of the crown are tied up in in Iraq and Afghanistan?

After all, Her Majesty could easily have lost her own grandson had he been permitted to lead his unit in Iraq. She must have plenty of thoughts on these matters.

Do get in touch with me on 07840 064115, or my landline 01484 329558. Also, you can email me on  weallpoo@yahoo.co.uk or  weallpoo@hotmail.co.uk , and there is a discussion notice-board at the myspace page of "Huddersfield Stop The War" group:  http://groups.myspace.com/huddersfieldstopwar

I am intending to do this above board and report my plans at Huddersfield police station tomorrow, as I don't intend to cause alarm with any rumours of sedition, which could spoil what will be a grand day for our town.

Please help spread word of my idea as far and wide as possible. My contact details are there for the giving. Let's show our monarch that the people of Huddersfield value her presence enough to raise hell about issues that are more immediate than tabloid muckraking about Diana conspiracies etc.

" Stop The War & Support Our Troops! "

The Royals are 1000% pro-war.

You can hardly find anyone who's more pro-Iraq war than them in the UK.

If they weren't. We wouldn't have gone there.

you are going to appeal to the direct descendant of imperial britain? to the fossilized thing that is your head of state that is even less progressive than political representation by the likes of blair and brown?!

your majesty will not stop any wars as it is not in britain's greater interest to do so and she can certainly spare a few subjects in defending the new empire's power.

asking your queen to stop that slaughter is like asking a butcher to let go of the chicken.

French solutions for British Monarchs!

Queen also in Bradford

Before she gets to Huddersfield she will be arriving in Bradford Interchange (on royal train), going to the new Hindu temple on Leeds Road, opening the new Pig Station and then going to Centenary Square.

Whilst a demo may not change her mind, it may put a bit of a dampener on what would otherwise be a nice day out for the over-privileged twosome, and maybe wipe the self satisfactory smile off their stupid faces.

The Royal Family are Parasites

The Queen's Visit to Bradford & Huddersfield

Maybe you anti-royalists should go back to school and learn about the role of the Monarchy in Great Britain, The Queen is not responsible for either of the conflicts in Iraq or Afghanistan. The Govenment lead by Tony Blair made the decision to go to war The Queen as our head of state isn't entitled to vote so therefore didn't have a say in the matter Parliament decided to go to war, The Queen just signed the papers. I entirely agree that both wars are unjustified and illegal but to lay the blame at the foot of the British Monarchy is just plain Ignorance. As for becoming a republic - maybe you should do your research about the role of the British Monarch before making flyaway comments about something you know nothing about. If people like you spouting your poison and hatred without a valid argument are the future of this wonderful country in which we live then GOD HELP US!!

REPUBLIC - Count me out if it means people like you making all the decisions!

What we have here is a muddle, to use E.M.Forster's choice term!

I can see where the misunderstanding may have occured, but when I made my original post I was in no way intending to condone people inthinking WE SHOULD DO AWAY WITH THE MONARCHY. Obviously it is your right in a democratic society to think whatever you like, even "YOU MIGHT BE A MEMBER OF THE ROYAL FAMILY considering how narrow-minded you are" as long as you do not act in a way that contravenes the law.

Actually I may be MISGUIDED THINKING - "THE QUEEN IS NECESSARY FOR US TO LIVE in our society the way it is", but that is my view, and I do not see why people who support THE QUEEN SHOULD BE CASTIGATED FOR NOT GIVING the tick-box answers which are considered correct.

After all, it is only that the views of someone like myself, who would agree that "The Govenment lead by Tony Blair made the decision to go to war The Queen as our head of state isn't entitled to vote so therefore didn't have a say in the matter Parliament decided to go to war, The Queen just signed the papers" are not in accordance with your own that they are not considered progressive.

Left-wingers, adopting a MADE-TO-MEASURE POLITICAL THEORY like Marxist-Leninism or anarchism, despise an anomaly like myself who opposes all warfare but believes Queen Elizabeth and her family are human beings (no irony intended). So all my opinions aren't hip and radical? My noble patriotic support for the Royal Family, judged by FALSELY LABELLED POLITICAL CORRECTNESS, IS MIDDLE-OF-THE-ROAD ORTHODOXY AND WILL NOT CHALLENGE ANYTHING. By golly, can a Black Briton do nothing right among these spoonfed and dreadlocked future advertising executives?

And remember, it is perfectly acceptable, in accordance with what OUR MEDIA JUDGES DEMOCRATIC WESTERN STANDARDS, to express a dislike of the institution of royalty, with the royal family themselves, or even with an individual member of the monarchy, but if I were to tell someone to CUT OFF PRINCE CHARLES' EARS and sell them to Simon Cowell and they were sufficiently AN INDIVIDUAL to do exactly that, then I could be convicted of what I had said to them, if it was seen as having encouraged a hate crime.

It is okay to offend someone, if you are prepared to take the consequences. So I don't necessarily object to the comment above referring to the police station as the "Pig Station", although, dear anonymous contributor, I suspect you might not use the term so freely if they found a black mental patient like myself committing an act of anal rape against you. And isn't the word "pig" only a term of abuse due to the lingering influence of the Jewish food laws? I admire the Church of England because the Queen runs it, and she has received The Divine Right of Kingship from the Chrism oil with which she was daubed at her coronation. but why are so many who claim WE NEED TO ABANDON AUTHORITY so uncritical of the linguistic programming they have received from the vestiges of monotheistic corporate religion?

Sincerely,
René Thomas -  weallpoo@yahoo.co.uk
