Bolton residents needed! Patients in Bolton will soon be used as guinea pigs for the controversial NHS Care Records System [1]. The scheme which will ultimately see everyone's intimate health details online in an insecure system which destroys medical confidentiality. For more details, see

Patients will not be able to opt out of having their demographic details on the database. The flawed "sealed envelope" system which supposedly allows patients to conceal sensitive information, will reduce rather than improve privacy, according to Ross Anderson, Professor of Security Engineering at the Cambridge University Computer Laboratory.
