In case I fail to make it to this one, perhaps someone will query the US researcher about the state of syndicalist thinking in the USA in the 1870s. Sam Mainwaring a fine orator, but not a writer, worked there then. Did he bring from there the idea that formed the Unofficial Reorm Committee of the South Wales Miners' Federation in 1911, or did he have some input in the USA that led to the IWW.
The Mainwaring thinking could have been strongly influenced by Alfred Russel Wallace who used to give lectures in the Neath Mechanics Institue in the 1840s. Sam's elders could well have attended that bubbling ferment of new ideas. (If you have that mp3 cd, look in texts to read Wallace's last book "The Revolt of Democracy". Emma Goldman credited Sam M. snr with originationg the phrase Anarcho-Syndicalism.
Dave is more likely to get to the meeting if the postcode is for the venue is shown, an added incentive would be another post code for economical Parking nearby. Postcodes could also help others to extract clear directions from the AA website.
The thing may be that the NAN is being swamped with Wobblies. I can see four already. Should I stay away?

Not sure that there is anywhere economical to park in Manchester anymore but there are metro stations and Victoria train station is near by.
