The North West Asylum Seekers Defence Group and Fight Racism! Fight Imperialism! are calling a demonstration/protest for Monday, 23 October 2006, at 10.30 am outside Dallas Court Reporting Centre, South Langworthy Road, Salford Quays [Broadway Tram stop]. This is in support of Mathew Adekunle and his family [his wife, a five-year-old, two-year-old and a 3-month-old baby] who have been asked to report with 'all their documents'. It is possible that they will be kidnapped and maybe later forcibly deported against their will if this happens.

Since May 2006, at least five other people have been kidnapped at Dallas Court while complying with immigration reporting restriction, including Jean Lobouka on 16 August 2006 who is still held at Campsfield prison.
There is a secret war going on in Nigeria, instigated by British oil companies, such as Shell and armed by Britain. While Britain amasses unprecedented wealth, stolen from the oppressed nations of the world, the vast majority of the 140 million Nigerians subsist on about 50p a day. British banks and corporations, such as oil corporation Shell, accumulate billions in profit from Nigeria every year. No wonder 79,000 children under five die evry month from lack of food, clean water, shelter and healthcare. British government advice to British citizens is to avoid travel to Nigeria, yet it deports Nigerian asylum seekers, including victims of rape and torture. What is sauce for the goose is clearly not sauce for the gander - this is racist.
We call on all supporters of asylum seekers and refugees, anti-racists, socialists, anti-imperialists, anti-deportation campaigners, democrats, etc. to:
Demonstrate against Mathew Adekunle and family's possible detention on Monday, 23 October 2006
