The Defend Eucharia and Timeyi Campaign, North West Asylum Seekers Defence Group and Fight Racism! Fight Imperialism! are calling a demonstration/protest for Thursday, 24 August 2006, at 10.00 am outside Dallas Court Reception Centre, South Langworthy Road, Salford Quays.
The Defend Eucharia and Timeyi Campaign, North West Asylum Seekers Defence Group and Fight Racism! Fight Imperialism! are calling a demonstration/protest for Thursday, 24 August 2006, at 10.00 am outside Dallas Court Reception Centre, South Langworthy Road, Salford Quays. This is in support of Eucharia Jakpa and her five-year-old son Timeyi who have been asked to report with 'all their documents'. It is possible that they will be kidnapped and maybe later forcibly deported against their will if this happens. Since May 2006, at least four other people have been kidnapped at Dallas Court while complying with immigration reporting restriction, including Jean Lobouka on Wednesday, 16 August 2006.
Although the Defend Eucharia and Timeyi Campaign (DETC) set up to defend them, has suceeded in sending over 900 individual letters to the Home Office, and collected over 2200 signatures, appealing for leave to remain, they have so far refused to grant them compassionate leave to remain. This is also despite the secret war going on in Nigeria, instigated by British companies, especially Shell. Eucharia's husband, daughter and mother were also victims of this war. Eucharia's husband, daughter have not been seen or heard of since April 2004.
Solidarity not sympathy! We call on all supporters of Eucharia and Timeyi, anti-racists, socialists, anti-imperialists, anti-deportation campaigners, democrats, etc. to:
Demonstrate against Eucharia and Timeyi's possible detention on Thursday 24 August 2006!
Defend all asylum seekers! No to all Labour's racist asylum laws! No to deportations! Close down Dallas Court!
