Around 100 (one hundred!) Rhythms of Resistance drummers from all over Europe, (including Rhythms of Resistance Manchester) marched in the city of Amsterdam to demonstrate against the privatisation of social housing in the Netherlands.
Amsterdam, with a strong history of squats, once again showed its opposition to rising housing prices and privatisation of social housing.

Have we changed the world? No, but at least we made our disagreement to the government known. Does the government care? Probably not (just like when millions marched against the war in england) but we will not accept this and do nothing. We will take the streets and still squat.
(Also there was a squated warehouse to express the opinion of housing for all. )
Now if you need more info there's lots on squats in amsterdam, the movement of squats. If you want more info as to why people do street protests then... erm... maybe thats a matter of life experience.
Hope this helps
