The DETC is campaigning to save the life of Eucharia and her 4-year-old son, Timeyi, who are threatened with deportation to Nigeria, from where they fled after members of their family were killed. Eucharia's husband and six-year-old daughter disappeared and have not been seen or heard of since. All deportees to Nigeria are immediately incarcerated, and over 95% of Nigerian prisoners are routinely brutalised and tortured. Eucharia's claim for asylum was rejected by the Home Office and she is seeking to appeal against this decision, but has been denied legal aid leaving her bereft of any legal representation.
Please support the DETC campaign by helping us to leaflet, petition and generate public support for Eucharia and Timeyi. We have so far collated and sent off about 600 letters of protest to the Home Office, but we need more letters, more help and more active support, against the racist policies of the British government.
As the screw is being turned against asylum seekers, so, unsurprisingly, are racist attacks against blacks, Asians and especially Muslims intensifying. We NEED to oppose the atmosphere of hate legitimised and given credence by Labour's racist immigration laws.
Please help us build the campaign against possible deportation of Eucharia and Timeyi to Nigeria.
Oppose all deportations. No to all immigration controls! No to the racist Labour government!
