Its time to do our bit.
This Friday Innocent Criminals Comedy Club is organising a Make Poverty History charity gig in order to persuade the G8 world leaders who will be meeting at Gleneagles, Scotland to wake up and take notice that we are not going to be ignored any longer and let people die of poverty.
On Friday 8th July 2005 Manchester's Innocent Criminals Comedy Club will be holding a benefit gig where all profits from the night will be donated to the Make Poverty History Charity.Specifically the Dissent network of resistance to the G8.
Resident Compere Dave Bishop said, "This is an opportunity for anybody who cannot attend the G8 protests in Scotland to make there voice heard and at the same time to help some of the worlds poorest people".
Whilst finance ministers agreed a deal on the 11 June for multilateral debt relief for 18 countries, this deal has not been extended to all of the worlds poorest countries. It is important that people are aware that more needs to be done including addressing the issue of current trade rules.
The headline act featured on the night will be "Germanys worst techno band"
Die Clatterschenkenfietermaus
currently making big waves on the national comedy circuit.Plus a full supporting lineup.
