Chavez in April 2002. The video will be followed by a discussion........
Public Meeting
There will be a showing of the film, The Revolution Will Not Be
Televised, followed by a talk and discussion led by John Foster,
International Secretary of the Communist Party of Britain.
The Revolution Will Not Be Televised covers the events surrounding
the failed coup d'etat against progressive Venezuelan leader Hugo
Chavez in April 2002.
The film-crew went to Venezuela to report on the progress of Chavez' Bolivarian Revolution, and became caught up in the extraordinary events of the US-backed coup, as popular demonstrations and rebellion in the ranks of the army forced the coup
leaders to release Chavez and accept defeat. A truly compelling film.
John Foster will then explain some of the events that have followed,
and why it is important to support Hugo Chavez' government in the
face of interference from the United States and other imperialist
powers.
