Call from the Autonomous Student Network for all anarchist, libertarian left and autonomist students to from a bloc at the Free Education demonstration on November 19th - Free university in a capitalist society is like a reading room in prison!
On November 19th the Autonomous Student Network will be organising a bloc at the national Free Education demonstration to display the anarchist presence in student politics in the UK today.
Education is a public good, and we should not be satisfied until it is universally and freely accessible. While we know that going for a walk around London won't secure free education by itself, an opportunity to push back against neo-liberal marketisation shouldn't be missed and shouldn't be abandoned to Liberal careerists or the authoritarian left. We invite all left libertarians, anarchists and autonomous socialists - students and otherwise - to join us in this call. Bring flags, banners, and excitement!
Assembly point will be with the main demo at 12pm on Malet St.
The ASN is a national network of local anarchist groups at universities up and down the country. After being set up last year, it has since then been involved in some of the most important fronts of student resistance, from the Cops Off Campus demos, to lecturers' strike solidarity actions. With a new year - and a broader, more radical, agenda - the ASN hopes to have its presence felt, and show the strength of anarchist ideas in the current student struggle.
