50 Years to Destruction

VRevolution Rising | 05.05.2014 23:49 | Climate Chaos | Ecology | Energy Crisis | London | South Coast

Gathering of people to call for serious investment into and research of renewable energies and sources in light of the UN climate report giving just 50 years for world co2 emissions to be reduced by 40% and the call for the end to all fossil fuel use.

A 'gathering' of people will take place outside 10 Downing Street on 24th August 2014 at 1pm to call for the end to fossil fuel use and serious research into renewable energies and sources. The UN climate report has given humanity just 50 years to reduce its co2 emissions by 40% and to almost zero by centuries end to avoid the planet warming by over 2 degrees. The accepted point of no return.

There can be no greater calling for each and every single one of us to demand governments act now before its too late. This is serious, its real and its present. Join the gathering and demand a radical shift. Stand up for humanity.

Could you point me to the report and the part where it says,

"UN climate report giving just 50 years for world co2 emissions to be reduced by 40% "

Because I have been unable to find it.

possibly more to the point

VRevolution, would you care to share with us your "model" of how anything like Britain's current population could be sustainably supported on Britain's available ecological base?

Religious or quasi religious expressions of faith not an answer. For example, something like "if we do away with capitalism all will be well" won't do. Necessary conditions are not sufficient conditions. Provide numbers, not platitudes.

PLEASE -- this is NOT saying that fossil fuel use isn't an important part of our problem. But SIMPLY saying "stop using fossil fuel" doesn't answer the "how will we manage to live".

We don't claim to have the solutions. That is for others to solve.

We stop what is wrong and others will fix it to become right

now not tommorrow

Still waiting

Still no link to the report I see. Shall we assume your initial post was simply bullshit ?

"The UN climate report has given humanity just 50 years to reduce its co2 emissions by 40% "

They have not said this in any of the reports.

@researcher in Bristol:

In this report by the UN Environment Programme:
 http://www.unep.org/sbci/pdfs/sbci-bccsummary.pdf
it talks about the need to reduce emissions by 50% in 40 years!

United Nations?

16.05.2014 22:04

The 'United Nations' does not represent the people, any more than the EU does. They are both organisations set up by the capitalists to establish global control over the people. Simply read the history of who established them and the why follows.

Catch phrases like: 'Sustainable Living' and 'Climate Change' are designed to deflect responsibility away from the governments and corporation and put we, the people, on a massive guilt trip.

It is the governments and corporations that are polluting the air, destroying the rainforests and playing with DNA, not the people.

Yes, we need to make dramatic changes, but we don't need idiots like those in the governments, EU or UN to tell us what to do. Human beings have lived in harmony with nature for millennia, before people decided they were 'the elite' and new better.

Reject the brainwashing and propaganda and really start thinking for yourselves.
