One particular victim of this policy has a seriously ill husband and has been pursued by the council despite offering to downsize to a smaller property, however there are no smaller properties available. Having contacted various government and not for profit agencies for help without success, this person is now being assisted by concerned residents of Basildon who have organised to fight against the pernicious policies of the government.
