''If you have a moment today, please write a postcard or letter to prisoner of conscience Margaretta D'Arcy in Limerick Prison. Aged 79, suffering from Parkinson's and receiving cancer treatment, Margaretta has been jailed for three months for refusing to sign a bond to stay away from Shannon airport where she was protesting against the US military presence. The state can't jail money-grubbing bankers and property developers, but has no problem in putting an elderly anti-war activist in prison for three months. It's utterly shameful. Meanwhile, the US war machine continues to use an Irish airport without interference...ugh. Please write today to express your support and solidarity; the address is Margaretta D'Arcy, Prisoner of Conscience, Limerick Prison, Mulgrave Street, Limerick City. Let her know that she's not alone and that people are thinking of her. Also, consider sending an email or letter to Alan Shatter, Minister for Justice, demanding Margaretta's immediate release!''
