remember 'reclaim love X' this saturday in london

the tenth annual unofficial street party and love-happening will take place this weekend at piccadilly circus in london.

come and celebrate a non-commercial alternative to valentine, and maybe even help heal the planet. 2pm saturday 16th feb 2013 eros piccadilly london uk

i've been covering these events for many years, and they're great.

at 2pm on saturday, there will be a gathering at the eros statue in central london, with music, free t-shirts, art, dance, food, and circus tricks.

after introductions and samba, the global happening will occur around 3pm, with hundreds of people joining hands in a huge circle. a strange calm will descend on the busy london junction, and everyone will chant an ancient buddhist mantra - "may all the beings in all the worlds be happy and at peace". at the same time, similar crowds will be chanting in major cities, on beaches, and in fields around the world.

the theory is that if enough people do it all at once across the planet, the effect will be transformational.

even if you think that's a load of hippy bollocks, there's definitely a vibe about these events, a celebration of positivity and a breakdown of barriers between strangers.

and after the chanting there's always a great street party, with sound system, live acts, and inspirational raps.

so, the weather forecast is good, the stage is set, and this year's 'reclaim love' could be the biggest yet.

see you there.
