Kheydaieelaar!  | 20.11.2012 16:43 | Anti-racism | Culture | London | World

The Boundary Commission has got itself into a second problem that shows it to be disrespectful towards Society. The Commission's alleged interest in dropping the word 'banglatown” from the name of the Tower Hamlets Council ward that contains the Brick lane London E1 area. It is now known as "Spitalfields and Banglatown". The Kheydaieelaar!  campaign has just been launched to stop this latest attack on the area.

Stop David Cameron and others' attacks on the community in the Brick Lane London E1 area. Keep Banglatown as part of the name

OPEN LETTER TO DAVID CAMERON being published in the Brick Lane London E1 area this evening calls for the ConDem Premier to

1.renounce the attack on the community that has been made in the apparent name of the UK Conservative Party
2. condemn the racist overtones exposed in the bid to scrap the current descriptive name of the Council ward "Spitalfields and banglatown" by dropping the "banglatown" bit
3. express unconditional support to the diversity of the Society and to pledge that he and his CONDM Coalition partners will respect and defend Society with its many cultural, ethic, linguistic and historic roots, identifies and backgrounds
4. Reverse all social cleansing measures that in effect attack the same groups,s sectors and sections in the UK society as the bid to scrap the word "banglatown".
