Clowns in the City.

Guido | 14.10.2008 16:00 | Globalisation | London

On Friday as share prices tumbled it became clear that the individuals running the financial markets were little more than a bunch of clowns. A team of experts was dispatched to the financial district to investigate.....

One indication as to how bad things are, was the sight just after lunch of every city Bar and pub full to bursting and overflowing onto the streets outside. It seems that every trader had left work early to go on the piss.

Most of them ignored our team of emergency financial consultants though some did take photos with their mobiles...

seriously its not funny, its really really fucking annoying. Will you PLEASE knock it off!

By all means be creative with your stunts and wear decent costumes, but constantly dressing as clowns - fucking stop that! I feel embarassed for you.

Scary...not.

Yes,

Second that. This whole clown thing just makes people think your too stupid to get it or anything else.

I saw it at the G8 and other places. Its pathetic, stupid and makes you look like your out to make decent activists look like they simply don't care. The whole clown thing is wearing extremely thin now. Your doing damage.

Sack up and get ready to fight a good serious fight.

Pasty face.

In defense of the clowns

There are getting out there and doing something which is more than can be said for 99% of the rest of the population.

The cops hate them.

They make people laugh.

There is nothing wrong with demos being theatrical. Certainly more visually interesting and entertaining than the average intervention by the left.

Who exactly delegated the posters above to pass judgment on how others make their point?

No but seriously folks.

Nobody delegated the posters above.

The point that has been made is that they are not effective...thats all.

This whole financial thing has caught us on the hop hasn't it. On the one hand the nation is in uproar over the nationalisation of the banks but most socialists agree with the measures that Brown has taken...ergo, endemic non-action.

Of course, once it comes to light that the 'nationalisation' hasn't in actual fact taken place then things will change but for now, well, not much happening at all.

The crowd that assembled Friday before last in the city promised they would return to carry on with their own protests but that dissipated quickly as it became obvious that they were going against the grain, so to speak.

Onwards and upwards.

A Pedant Speaks...

Aside from th fact that the first two posters make a series of unfounded statements as to the effectivness or otherwiseof a particular tactic (an argument we could have, if they were able to produce any facts to support their knee jerks with actual fact) I am forced to question how our cause is furthered by illiterate and grammatically impoverished trolling of this nature.
