The Yard is on the edge of the SOCPA Zone (where Broadway meets Caxton St) so we can entertain ourselves with the absurd fact that we may or may not need s.132 authorisation to assemble and express ourselves, depending on where we stand.
Our call, as with comrades in Liverpool (see http://www.indymedia.org.uk/en/2008/09/409299.html ) is for different groups to come along, bring their banners and share in the action and / or organise protests elsewhere. We hope that activists across the country will consider taking part and also recognise the need to mobilise regularly in the future (we suggest monthly) at suitable 'imperial' locations (police stations, town halls) on a simultaneous, nationwide basis.
We need a movement that both defends and aims to enlarge civil liberties at the same time!
PS after assembling at the Yard we may go on walkabout in the SOCPA zone.
