Camden Deadly disease lab / animal testing lab....PR firm and Security firm.

Pix | 09.06.2008 22:42 | Animal Liberation | Bio-technology | London | World

Most of you will know about the attempt to build the "World's largest ever, high level, virus containment facility and animal testing lab" on a Camden council estate and next to St Pancras International.
They have hired a PR agency to "answer letters", which go ignored for months at a time. Campaigners want to know what will happen to the National Temperance hospital site, what safety plans are in place for the Kings Cross lab {B.L.I.S.S. - British Library International Science Site}

The NIMR are also hiring a security firm to guard the NIMR owned old National Temperance Hospital, Grant Security's LTD.

My hope

I only hope that mature and intelligent arguments are used to fight this lab in order to ensure a meaningful, effective and sizeable opposition to it from the local population, unlike those used to fight the Oxford lab whose, however sincere and well-meaning, demands for 'animal rights' have, predictably, been a total failure - as always happens when ethics are invoked instead of hard, scientific, incontrovertible facts when fighting vivisection.

London Communications Agency - utter arrogance....

Grant Security's - scraping the barrel! ...er, are these the lads that Mandy from London Against Camden Danger Lab described as "huge and top notch"? ...right....they work from a Layton council pad, followed people from the Somers Town "meet and greet" sessions and threatened them.
Mandy, I think you should put your glasses on!

Contact local council about Grants Losers

It's illegal to run a business from a council house/flat so contact the local housing departmentand get these muppets chucked out of their council flat/house.

I've never seen these muppets before in my life! The National Temperance...

I am aware from hearsay, as is everyone who reads this site, that a journalist was followed by someone after leaving the "meet and greet" sessions held in Somers Town in Camden by the MRC consortium but I didn't see it. I didn't personally get any hassle.

I'm also aware that it is unlikely that any proposal for an animal testing lab at the National Temperance Hospital site where these guys are currently posted is to be put forward.

However it is owned by the NIMR / MRC consortium and it might be worth pointing out to Grant Security's the implications of a deadly disease lab / animal testing lab in Camden / Kings Cross and on a council house estate, which the people they are working for are planning on.

Please keep letters and calls to Grant Security's polite as from experience I've found that it is often the case that people don't know what's going on until someone tells them / points it out and Grant Security's might not be aware of the plans by the NIMR or even who they are or what they do.

As for the muppets in the pic, I haven't seen these guys, sorry.

Are you sure that Security's is spelt like that?

As for working from a council flat, [if they do...] I'm not up for shopping them.

The NIMR / MRC say that security is a high priority but.....

12.06.2008 20:34

If the Grant Security's are indeed working from a council flat which is illeagl, then the NIMR didn't do a background check....what does this say about security arrangements of these people? does this help the public feel safe in the knowledge that terrorists won't get into the research facility if it's built? I think not!

Dee

Thanks to whoever sent me a "Grant Security's" flyer, but....

Yesterday the security at the dog unit at MRC Harwell Oxfordshire locked AR activists in and said they were calling the "atomic police". See WARN. Western Animal Rights Network for more details or indymedia postings from yesterday. .

Grant Security's LTD are in fact providing security to keep squatters and children out of a building that would not make a very nice or appropriate squat.
