Torch Went Out in London Too!

riotact | 07.04.2008 18:21 | Social Struggles | London

The French weren’t likely to be caught napping when it comes to kicking off so it’s good to see that the Olympic Torch protest was abandoned in Paris today (1).

What no torch?
What no torch?

Before the Gallic pride gets too much however we’d like to point out that the Olympic Torch was extinguished in London first.

Our man on the ground fills us in:

“On Waterloo Bridge several hundred people began to chase the turch through the city and down Fleet Street. Many more people headed to St Paul’s to cut them off.

Nearing the Cathedral people streamed in front of the torch, which along with the people chasing behind effectively surrounded it. Looking over the torch was being carried by one of the Chinese officials (who looked like they were shitting themselves) and didn’t appear to be lit.

The old bill held the procession for a while which you can see in the pic below. Whilst this shot was taken the official was actually carrying the torch pointing downwards by his legs. The police then retreated suddenly and the Chinese officials were bundled onto a bus along with the distinctly unlit torch.

This reasons why the flame went out are unclear, however it seems obvious that they wouldn’t allow such a large naked flame on the bus.

This was not an open topped bus like those which has been used earlier, but a converted double-decker. It seems likely the flame was put out on health & safety grounds”

The torch went out quite a few times...

The torch is out...
The torch is out...

...such as in Bloomsbury, where the runners were advised not to face the protesters outside the British Museum.

The parade pulled up in the square to the south and after much discussion - and arm waving from senior cops - the torch was extinguished and everyone got on the bus. Apparently they 'keep the flame alive' in the little lantern you see him holding.

Here's a picture just before they ran the gauntlet.

The Hitler connection

08.04.2008 00:41

All the symbols of the 'modern' Olympics were created on behalf of Hitler for the Munich Olympics.
See how much importance is attached to keeping the Olympic torch alive from its original basis.
What we see scurrying round the world is an occult symbol created by an absolutely occult regime, supported and funded by the Vatican and the bankers
The horrendous and murderous regime of the Nazis used the Olympics to grandstand their power, and the Chinese muderers of tens of millions will do the same
We're supposed to look at sporting achievement while a tyrranous regime of organ-harvesters strut their stuff
let's hope in city after city it becomes more difficult
In 2012 it comes to us by which time they aim for our social order to pretty much resemble that of the Chinese

So the solution to China's repression is....

...restoration of the Tibetan monk's feudal slavery?

Has anyone noticed how much "support" this "free Tibet" thing has been getting from Mr. Brown and Downing Street? The U.S. government? Has anyone bothered to ask WHY they would care?

Seems everyone is overlooking something here:

 http://www.newamericancentury.org/

Can you say " 'Free' Tibet=Asian Kosovo"? Congrats to all of you for such a sterling job of pushing the Pox Americana agenda for Uncle Sam & Co.! The yank's government would like to thank you all so kindly for your help making it possible for all the new military bases they want to establish in Tibet to intimidate China and Russia with. Yes, China violates human rights-but so does the U.K.! Also, which country has incarcerated fully 1% of its ENTIRE ADULT POPULATION?(Clue No. 1-It's NOT China!)

The point here is this: Be careful what you wish(and protest) for!

The Guardian had an interesting piece on the current protests in Tibet.

the bottom line is

09.04.2008 12:49

China invaded Tibet. They have no right to be there.Whatever US and UK intentions are will have to be sorted out once Tibet is back in the hands of the Tibetens.

my 10 cents

more bottom lines

the other bottom line is that the Olympics are corporate and have nothing to do with gettting us all in to sport and everything to do with propaganda and making cash att others expense. It is funny that the origins were to stop Greek city states warring ( tho they kept their slaves and kept on warring ). Mind you they all collapsed as will todays warring states. Perhaps people should be boycotting that other invader - the UK. Over 20 million people displaced. property speculation..and worst of all Seb fucking Coe tory prick. No wonder they like the fascistic symbolism.

10 cents you are a tit.

in 2012 will you be calling for a boycotting of the london olympics for the multiple invasions of this albion isle?

when was the last time protests got this kind of coverage.. couple of weeks ago 100,000 people on the streets.. not a sausage.
