save pinsey wood from paintballers ending public access and threatening ecology

Hi, everyone. I was walking my dog in Pinsley wood yesterday - we
went there last Sunday - and I met someone who told me that the whole
wood was going to be fenced off, so that the public can't go there
any more. They plan to use the wood for paint balling and team
building events. The wood is one of the last woods in Oxfordshire
that the public can walk through!!! We can't walk in the Wywood or
Wytham wood any more. Pinsley wood is full of wild life like deer and
birds like the red kite. It is wonderful in the spring because it is
full of bluebells and wild orchids and lots of other wild flowers.
These will all go if it is used for other events. The residents of
Long Hanborough are up in arms about it and there is a big meeting at
the Methodist hall opposite Oliver's Garage on the main road next
Tuesday evening at 7.15. I am going because there will be local
councillors speaking and petitions to sign to stop it happening. They
intend to build accomodation next to the wood for people to stay in.
There will be a road up to the wood across the fields where we walked
and all the lovely walks will vanish because we won't be able to go
there. Please come to the meeting if you are free that evening.
I don't know of any other wood around Witney where you can actually
walk as freely as we did last Sunday.!!!Please come and support the
meeting and sign the petition. See you there, hopefully
